So, if I understand the origin story correctly - this started as a cooking channel, but when the shortcake he made out of ground-up shortcake-flavored instant noodles came out too hard, and the ONLY knife he had did not prove adequate to the occasion - he promised himself to make a knife that will eventually be able to cut it. And he keeps making them, over and over and over and over and over again. :)
