I really recommend this recipe it was so good but if you are going to do this I recommend you to do the other dough like two hours before because it took me four hours i am sure it is supposed to take a long time but i think it can be faster than four hours :)

This makes me miss the Melonpan in Osaka, from that Melonpan-ice store in America-mura. I think the store was called "World's Second Best Freshly Baked Melonpan Ice"?

Here in Mexico, Melon pan is called "concha" bigger of course, sugary coat comes in many colors (classic chocolate, vainilla flavors)...also a new variety, mixed with muffin shape "mante-concha".... Always perfect for hot cocoa or coffee :)

Here again with a review of Hida's recipes! I haven't done one in awhile.
These came out really good, even though I totally screwed up the rising part of the recipe. They're surprisingly airy and light and easy to make, even without lemon zest (I just used lemon juice since I didn't have any). I didn't have the right kind of cocoa for the chocolate ones and made them with Hershey's dark chocolate cocoa powder-- don't. It makes them taste kind of chalky. It was still good, just not as good. I can't think of any other critiques for this recipe! It's pretty straightforward and simple (in my opinion) and out comes out great, even if you've never made it before or you forget to let the dough proof in the oven because it's sixty degrees outside and have to let it rise in the fridge overnight like I did!
Overall ranking: 9.5/10

I'm Japanese, and when I saw this video, it reminds me of when my family would go visit Japan every 2 to 3 years and how much I love Japan. Not only that, but my grandma, who lives in Japan, would take us to this amazing bakery, and they sell amazing melon bread. So thank you for creating such amazing content and keep it up!
